What We Do

Expert Shower Repair Services

A faulty shower disrupts your daily routine and, left unaddressed, can cause water damage to surrounding tiles, flooring, and the structure beneath. Whether your shower is leaking, producing scalding or freezing water, losing pressure, making unusual noises, or simply failing to turn on, our qualified plumbers diagnose the fault accurately and carry out a lasting repair — often on the same day you call.

We repair all types of showers including electric showers, thermostatic mixer showers, manual mixer showers, power showers, and digital shower systems. Common faults we fix include failed thermostatic cartridges (causing temperature fluctuation or inability to reach temperature), failed solenoid valves in electric showers, blocked or calcified shower heads and flow restrictors, leaking riser rail connections, faulty diverter valves, and worn seals on shower trays and enclosures causing water ingress into the floor structure beneath.

Limescale build-up is a particularly common issue in hard water areas of the UK, causing showers to lose pressure and temperature control over time. Our engineers thoroughly descale and service shower units, replacing affected internal components and advising on water softening solutions to protect your shower in the long term.

We carry replacement cartridges, solenoid valves, and service kits for all major shower brands on our vans — including Mira, Triton, Aqualisa, Hansgrohe, and Grohe — enabling most repairs to be completed in a single visit without waiting for parts to be ordered.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My shower keeps running cold or going suddenly hot. What's wrong?

Temperature fluctuation in a mixer shower is almost always caused by a worn or failed thermostatic cartridge. The cartridge is responsible for blending hot and cold water to the set temperature — when it fails, temperature control is lost. This is a straightforward repair that we carry out regularly. We stock cartridges for Mira, Grohe, Hansgrohe, Aqualisa, and other major brands.

My electric shower has lost pressure but still heats the water. Why?

Reduced flow in an electric shower that still heats correctly usually indicates a blocked filter or shower head rather than an internal fault. Electric shower inlet filters are prone to limescale build-up in hard water areas and should be cleaned annually. We'll inspect and clean the filter, shower head, and flow regulator, restoring the pressure in most cases during a single visit.

There's water coming through the shower tray into the room below. What should I do?

Water penetrating through or around a shower tray is a serious issue that needs addressing immediately to prevent structural damage. The most common causes are failed silicone seals around the tray perimeter, a cracked tray, a failed tray-to-waste connection, or a leaking shower screen seal. We'll identify the source and carry out the correct repair to make the area watertight again.

Is it worth repairing an old shower or should I replace it?

For most showers under 10–12 years old, repair is typically more cost-effective than replacement. For older units where spare parts are no longer available, or where the unit has multiple concurrent faults, replacement may be the better investment. We'll always give you an honest comparison of repair vs. replacement costs and our professional recommendation before you commit to anything.

Can you repair a digital or smart shower system?

Yes. We repair digital shower systems from brands including Aqualisa, Mira, and Hansgrohe. Digital showers have both plumbing and electronic components — we work on the plumbing side (valves, connections, pumps) and liaise with manufacturer technical support where electronic faults require specialist diagnostics.
